Embracing My Whole Life

Often I am asked how do I integrate my work as a Zen Priest and my work as a diviner and holder of the Black Angel Cards.  I recognize it as a question that comes from the tendency to view things as separate.  It also comes from a curiosity of how one can embrace their whole life—every aspect.

Solstice: Light in Darkness by Gary Gach

Thank  you Gary Gach.  I couldn’t have said it better so I am sharing this piece with you.  Please take the time to read it.  It just may change how you feel today…..
“As the year turns, we turn with it.”

This is about this very moment. This wonderful moment. Have you noticed? This week is the solstice: Sunday, to be precise. The shortest day of the year, and the longest night.

Typically a time of clarity and community, introspection and renewal, it’s an apt time to begin my blog. I ask myself, in this moment, what is there for me to say, in this community, of clarity? What am I learning that you might learn with me? How might I serve mind, body, and spirit, as one, to prompt nourishing contemplation, and fruitful conversation? As always the answer is as plain as the nose in front of my face.

Thank You

My writing is hard work because my  intention goes beyond a creative display but rather it is an effort to connect and touch the hearts of those around me.  Thanks to all of those who came out to celebrate with me Sunday. My dear sister friend Skye Ward has a wonderful post about Sunday’s celebration.  Take a look by clicking the following link: http://skyeviewtraveler.wordpress.com/2011/10/16/tell-me-something-about-buddhism-reading.

I will be sharing my journey again November 30th at Laurel Bookstore in Oakland at 7 pm.
