I was lucky enough to be in the Buddha Hall at SFZC to hear Zenju offer this talk… wonderful! Well worth listening to… Thank you for your teachings and your practice, Zenju.
Thanks Zenju for broadening and deepening my perception of Martin Luther King Jr’s life and ministry. Through the timeline of his life I could see how his experiences were “inter-related” from the work that began with his ancestors to the gifts he shared with the world during and beyond his lifetime. For me, this Dharma Talk felt more like a sermon. It’s a good thing that I was not present at Zen Center during this talk since I had several vocal moments of expression. The Pentecostal Girl in me could not hold back the “Amen’s” & “Hallelujah’s”… I had church as I listened from my laptop in my bedroom. Thanks for reminding us ALL that MLK Jr Day is not “Black People’s Day.” His life and ministry meant so much more. Giving Thanks!!!
What an intimate and enlightening talk about Martin Luther King – mahalo nui loa/thank you very much Zenju! Appreciate knowing what he meant to you and what he means to the world!
